Phyllis T. Imperi, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Phyllis was born June 17, 1931, in Toledo, to Anthony and Violet (Kozinski) Gorzelski.

Phyllis retired from The Women's Clinic, working as the Office Manager after many years of service. Phyllis was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. She enjoyed reading, family parties, cooking, the holidays, and spending time with her family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Fred) Altaffer of Sandusky and Sandra Hamm of Sandusky; sons, Patrick (Jodie) Gerold of Sandusky, Christopher Gerold of Toledo, and Todd (Cheryl) Gerold of Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Kristen, Patrick, Anthony, Alexis, Samantha, Justin, Reece, Vincent, and Jeremy; five great-grandchildren, Jamie, Lillie, Eli, Tristan, and Sophia; brother, Robert (Laurie) Gorzelski of Toledo; three stepdaughters; stepgrandchildren; special friend, Sally Wheeler; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Imperi in 1998; sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Stanley Michalak; and one stepson.

A private family service and burial will be conducted at a later date.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting family with arrangements.
