Ray L. Schnellinger, 94, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2023, at Ohio Veterans Home with his loving family by his side.

Ray was born May 22, 1928, in Norwalk, to the late Alma (Adelman) Schnellinger and Carl Schnellinger.

Ray graduated from St. Paul High School in 1946 and proudly served his country during World War II as a member of U.S. Army. He was employed as a union electrician for over 40 years. He was a long-time member of American Legion, Ohio Nut Grower's Association, and St. Paul Catholic Church. Ray looked forward to meeting with the Buckeye Pub regulars every Saturday morning. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, family gatherings, and traveling with his wife. Ray will be greatly missed.

Ray is survived by five children, Lynn Schnellinger of Norwalk, Gail (Dave) Laird of California, Paula Schnellinger of Norwalk, Mark (Lois) Schnellinger of Willard, and Pat (Beth) Schnellinger of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Scott (Andrea), Jennifer (Bobby), Jarod, Cathy, and Karli; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Schnellinger; daughter in infancy, Kathy; and seven siblings, Pauline Fisher, Richard Schnellinger, Walt Schnellinger Sr., Carla Schnellinger, Marge Schnellinger, Kenny Schnellinger, and Mary Trares.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
