Regina Williams Obituary

Regina Lynn (Persinger) Williams

Feb 27, 1966 - Jun 17, 2025

Sandusky

Regina Lynn (Persinger) Williams, lovingly known as "Nene," passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Sandusky, at the age of 59.

Born February 27, 1966, Regina was the beloved daughter of Cynthia Persinger and the late John Persinger. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, affectionately known as "Nene" to her grandchildren and many others whose lives she touched.

Regina was married for 41 years to Harold Williams II, with whom she built a life centered around love, laughter, and family. She was a proud stay-at-home mom and caregiver, known for welcoming others into her home and heart without hesitation. Her passions included spending time with family, loving on her grandchildren, and caring for her many "bonus" children. Her home was a safe place for anyone in need of comfort, guidance, or a warm hug.

She was the proud mother of Christopher (Mallory) Williams, Joseph (Samantha) Williams, and CeCe (Anixa) Amador. Her joy overflowed in her role as "Nene" to her cherished grandchildren, Kennedy and Brady Williams, and Rebekah Fearing. Regina also embraced several bonus children as her own, Kevin (Mackenzie) Appell, Jerry (Lindsey) Hodgkinson, and Branden (Samantha) McNair.

Those who knew Regina would describe her as loving, strong-willed, ornery, feisty, and beautifully selfless. She loved nothing more than spending time with family, loving on her grandkids, and checking in on others-even during her final days. Her favorite sayings, "I'm good" and "I'm fine," summed up her quiet strength and unwavering desire to put others first.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Persinger; grandmother, Betty Melton; and is survived by her mother, Cynthia Persinger; and her extended chosen family, Linda and Denny Cogar, Henrine and Allen Walker, MaryLou and Steve Zimmerman, and Margo and Bob Lawton.

Regina leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, warm laughter, and the kind of care that stays with you forever. Her grandchildren will never doubt how deeply they were loved by their Nene-her hugs, her stories, and her light will remain in their hearts always.

A private Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Stein Hospice, 1912 Hayes Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870 or Sandusky City Schools Special Education Department, 407 Decatur St., Sandusky, OH 44870.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., is handling the arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had no idea what was going on. I had a lot of good times with Regina throughout the years, starting at when I first met her in the county. She was the most giving person. I remember when I didn't have any money and she took my grandson to the mall and got him the Nike shoes that he'd been wanting. I hope that you all will be wrapped in God's arms and comforted. Again, sorry for your loss.
