Richard Haley Obituary

Richard "Dick" Haley

Mar 10, 1944 - Jun 12, 2023

Huron

Richard "Dick" Haley, 79 years young, passed away quietly Monday, June 12, 2023, in the care of Hospice in Sandusky.

Dick was a graduate of Huron High School and an USAF Veteran where he served from 1963-1967, spending time in Okinawa, Japan, and at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. After being discharged from U.S. Air Force, he worked at New Departure-Hyatt in Sandusky. He then left there to go with his friend, Ken Strayer, selling and servicing boats for many years at Huron River Marine.

Dick was an avid duck and goose hunter in the fall and winter, and otherwise loved to be out fishing on Lake Erie.

He is survived by his sister, Jeri Knutson; best friend for life, Linda Haley; niece, Kim Toney; and many other nieces, great-nieces, and nephews. It would be a disservice not to mention all of his friends and hunting and fishing buddies who stood by his side throughout his life and especially his last days. Thank you all very much.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Collins) Murphy; stepfather, William Murphy; father, Jack Haley; and brother, Robert Haley.

At Dick's request, there will be no services. He will be missed and will forever be with us in our hearts and memories.
