Richard E. Koch, 67, of Bellevue, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born on February 11, 1958, in Sandusky to Eugene and Ruby (Clayton) Koch.
Richard graduated from Monroeville High School in 1976. He was employed as a highway supervisor for ODOT for 32 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, mowing grass, camping, playing cards, and cornhole. Spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.
Richard is survived by his wife, Julia, whom he married September 14, 1984. He is also survived by his sons, Brian (Shirley) Koch, Paul (Trisha) Drossman; daughter, Tracey (Steve) Ball; sisters, Vickie Caranfa, Beverly (David) Leibold, Janice (Jeffrey) Schild; sister-in-law; Sandy Keimer; 12 grandchildren, Halle, Peyton, Mya, Aiden, Mathius, Benjamin, Lahniah, Kellen, Korryn, Kendall, Jacob, and Janelle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his in-laws, Dale and Janet Keimer; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Caranfa and Carl Keimer.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

VICKIE-I did not know your brother but it is never easy losing one. I lost my brother Bob in 2006 and he took some of me with him. Please know you will be in my daily prayers because I know of what the days ahead will bring.

I worked with Richard at ODOT in Erie County. He was always a standup guy. Great to work with. My sincere condolences to the family. Thoughts and prayers to all. May your memories help ease the pain of your loss.

Had a lot of fun and laughs with Richard in high school. Unfortunately I lost connection with him after graduation. My sympathies are with his family during this difficult time.
