Robert Lee Delius, 94, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026, at The Parkvue Community after a brief illness.

Bob was born on March 6, 1931, in Sandusky, to the late Frank and Freida (Huttenlocher) Delius.

Bob graduated from Sandusky High School in 1949. He grew up on a farm, where he raised chickens and developed a strong work ethic at an early age. When he was old enough, Bob began farming on his own and sold fresh produce to the Cleveland market. After leaving farming, he started working at a bakery in Sandusky, where he met the love of his life, Nancy. The two were married in 1969. Shortly thereafter, Bob began his career as an auto mechanic at Foster Chevrolet, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in 2007. During his years at Foster's, Bob and his good friend Steve Pisarsky started a garden in the field next to Bob's home. Bob was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron. Bob enjoyed building and collecting model cars and had a true spirit for adventure, especially when taking road trips with his family. He also loved boat rides and spending time at Cedar Point. As an animal lover, Bob always had a dog.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Angela Delius of Sandusky; grandson, Joseph Burns of Sylvania; and nephew, Denny (Wilda Smith) Delius of Norwalk.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Rengel) Delius; brother, Frank Delius; and sister-in-law, Rita Rengel.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
