Robley Edward Blackford Sr., 83, of Gypsum, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton.
He was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Nelsonville, the son of Robert and Vivian (Joy) Blackford. Robley was an U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1957-1960. He married Theresa Wierzba on Sept. 14, 1968. Robley was a Central Office Equipment Installer for GTE, Port Clinton, retiring in 1989 and then worked for Marconi Electronics, Lorain, retiring in 1997. Robley attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton.
Robley is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughters, Dawn (Dean) Fisher of Port Clinton and Heather (Andrew) Zisko of Maumee; daughter-in-law, Tamara Blackford of Marblehead; grandchildren, Cody (Jessica Naegele) Blackford, Tiffany (Jacob Lattimore) Fillmore, Mary Blackford, Joshua Fisher, Ashton Fisher, Jason Zisko, Nicholas Zisko, and Luke Zisko; great-granddaughter, Brooke-Lynn Lattimore; and sister, Linda (James) Sickel of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robley E. Blackford Jr.; brother, Robert Blackford; and sisters, Lois (Don) Johnson and Betty Blackford.
Robley's funeral will be private.
Interment will be at Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Florida, 33607.
