Michael Drew McCool, 63, of Castalia, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 20, 1959 in Sandusky to Joan Opal (Cheshier) Stevens and Harry William McCool.

Mike was a 1978 graduate of Perkins High School. He was employed by Parker Excavating, as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 30 years before retiring in 2021. Mike loved to work, whether it be at work or at home. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, and mowing the lawn. Mike attended The Chapel. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren's sporting activities and spending time with them outdoors. You never really knew what kind of adventure you were going to have with Papa.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Carla Jean (Criswell) McCool, whom he married on April 3, 1982; two daughters, Heather McCool, of Castalia, and Vicki (Travis) Hartman, of Pemberville; four grandchildren, Dani, Dana, Jacob and Beau; three brothers, William (Elizabeth) McCool, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Timothy McCool, of Hudson, Florida, and James McCool, of St. Petersburg, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Friends and family may call 9 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, until Mike's service begins at 11 A.M. at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd., Sandusky.
