Roland Hart Obituary

Roland Hart

Apr 12, 1937 - Feb 1, 2024

Huron

Roland "Rol" Hart, 86, residing in Huron, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Rol was a lifetime resident of Huron, born to Virgil and Eleanor (Halladay) Hart. He graduated from Huron High School in 1955 and furthered his education at The Ohio State University. Rol's professional life was marked by a successful career in sales, where his strong work ethic shone brightly, a trait he passionately instilled in his children and grandchildren.

Baseball held a special place in Rol's heart. From working for Detroit Tigers during spring training as a young man and playing leagues into his adult years, the game was a thread woven throughout his life. Rol's competitive spirit also led him to become the first person to ever bowl a "Perfect" 300 game during league bowling at Riverview Lanes in Huron. Rol's commitments to his community were evident through the years. From his involvement with Christ Episcopal Church in Huron, where he served on the vestry board, to his 23 years of service volunteering at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Rol's sense of humor was legendary and he was known as a "mostly good jokester," leaving behind countless memories of laughter and joy with his many friends and family.

Rol was a devoted grandfather and loved cheering the grandkids on through sporting events, graduations, and all the moments in between. He is survived by his children, Kimberly (John) Wyatt of Florida and Todd (Betty) Hart of Huron; grandchildren, A.J (Addie), Courtney, Elijah, and Gabrielle Hart, and John (Carrie) Wyatt III; great-granddaughters, Rosemary Hart and Hannah and Rana Wyatt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norman and Mari Bostater of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann (Bostater) Hart in 2022; sister, Florance Poyer; and brother, Jack Hart.

A celebration of Rol's life will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Hidden Valley Community room, 946 Hidden Valley Dr., Huron.
