Ronald C. "Red" Beese, 84, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday evening, Aug. 25, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

He was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Sandusky, the son of Harry Edward and Albertine Elizabeth (Nutzki) Beese Jr. Over the years, Red worked at the Marc Pic-n-Pay Grocery Store, then at Jupiter Discount Department Store, and later at K-Mart, where he eventually retired. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and more recently attended Zion Lutheran Church.

Red is survived by his sister, Clara McCullough; three nieces, Pat (Gary) Savage, Mary Taylor, and Ellen Bandel; nephews, James "Jimmy" and Robert "Robby" McCullough, Ed "Eddie," Keith, and Michael Clark, and Chad Beese; and close friend, Ed Mulder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and David Beese; sister, Sharon Clark; and two nephews, David Beese and James "Jimmy" Jump.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, until the time of Red's funeral at 12 p.m. at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. The Rev. Michael C. Conklin will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

So sorry to hear of Red´s passing. When we were kids we were neighbors and my brother Allen and I used to play with Red, Clara, Sharon, and David. In the early to mid 2000s I ran into Red at the Amvets in Sandusky when I went there with my Mom and her friend, Marv, when I was in town. Ron or Red always had stories, updates and maybe a little gossip to share when he stopped by our table. It was good running into him again after all those years. I know that my brother, Allen was in contact with him and with Clara, now and again over the years too. Rest in peace, Ron. So sorry for your loss, Clara.
