Ronald John Hofacker, 81, of Clyde, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

Ronald was born Sept. 2, 1942, in Port Clinton, the son of Gilbert and Lorine (Sonnichsen) Hofacker.

Ronald will be remembered as a hard-working family man. He was a great father who enjoyed watching football and baseball with his daughters. He owned R.J. Hofacker Construction for many years. It would be hard to put a number on how many houses and structures he built over the years. He even developed a street in Clyde in which he lovingly named after his wife, Marleen.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Marleen (Grenier) Hofacker, whom he married in 1964 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky; daughters, Amanda (Derrick) Coffman of Florence, Alabama, and Beth Tompkins of Clyde; grandson, Jackson Tompkins; and sister, Joanne Fleming of Port Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Patricia Freimark, Rosalie Hipp, Richard Hofacker, Gilbert Hofacker, Louise Worthington, and Eugene Hofacker.

Visitation will be open for everyone from 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, until the time of Ronald's funeral at 2 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde, Ohio, 43410. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde.
