Rosa Anna Ruffin, 73, of Sandusky, affectionately known to all as Rose, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, following a brief illness at The Meadows at Osborn Park.

She was born June 8, 1952, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the union of Johnny and Eula Spearman. Rose grew up in a bustling home filled with warmth and faith. She carried that legacy of compassion throughout her life, dedicating herself to serving others as a nurse aide and touching many lives with her care and kindness. Rose's kindness was never confined to her profession; she extended it to her role in her church, where she served dutifully in the altar society, as a missionary, in the choir, and on the women's committee. She was also a beloved fixture in the church kitchen. A devout Christian, Rose lived her faith as a living testimony, prayerful, faithful, and always guided by a strong moral compass.

Rose's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her adoring siblings, Doris Frazier, Martha Bell, and Raymond (Janice) Smith. Also by her loving children, Rose Spearman, Patricia Magee-Wright, Gregory Spearman, Johnny (Jody) Spearman, and Shermaine (Larrie) Johnson. Her memory will be held in the hearts of her stepchildren, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband, Major Ruffin; and several aunts and uncles. Also, by her dear friend, Inez Grant.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Emmanuel Temple Church, 128 E. Adams St. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
