Sharon (Hopwood) Carnal, 79, of Huron, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by family and loving caregivers. Born May 13, 1946, in Mentor, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruby Hopwood.

Sharon is survived by her son, Adam Sterle; daughter-in-law, Kim Joab; and her beloved grandson, Tyler Sterle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim.

A strong and determined woman, Sharon raised her son for many years as a single, working mother. Though times were not always easy, she provided a home filled with love, resourcefulness, and resilience. She was a proud woman who took great care to make her home-and everything in it-just right.

In the prime of her life, she worked as an interior designer, bringing her sense of style and attention to detail into the homes of others. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, snow and water skiing, and sharing her incredible cooking. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother, and she cherished every moment spent with Tyler.

Her family will remember her as a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a woman who lived with grace, humor, and strength.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral. A celebration of her life will be at a later date. Foster Funeral Home & Crematory will be assisting the family.
