Sherry Popovich, 79, of Tellico Community, Loudon, Tennessee, went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, following a battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born Jan. 2, 1945, in Sandusky. Sherry graduated from Sandusky High School and was an architect, designing homes in California.

Sherry's survivors include her husband of 46 years, Steve Popovich; daughter, Gidget Wagner (Mike); granddaughter, Lauren of California; son, Heath Bernston; grandsons, Michael and Kevin; brother, Dennis lehle (Margery); and numerous grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Ruth lehle; and sister, Diane lehle.

Sherry and Steve retired to Tellico Village in 2000. She was a member of the Tellico Players where she designed costumes. She was also known as "cake lady," making numerous cakes for various occasions. Sherry was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Lenoir City.

Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association.
