I only knew Steve through my mom, Suzy Stahl who enjoyed choir practice with my dad under Steve´s direction. My parents really enjoyed singing for the Lord with their Saint Mary´s choir director, Steve. Rest In Peace.

With sincere sympathy to you for your loss Matt and Jon. Your dad had a positive impact on many Scouts that developed skills under his guidance. He didn't always say what you wanted to hear but he was honest and to the point. I pray for you to to find peace and love to fill your heart as you recall good times with your dad. Peace~Hope~Love

This makes me so sad. I am glad that I got to see Steve last year when he visited Clyde. I thought of him as "Uncle Steve." He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss, Jon and Matt. He will be missed.

Dear Matt and John,
Coni and I are deeply saddened to hear of Steve's death. He was a great friend with a quick mind and wit. We enjoyed your family tremendously. Was much fun watching you boys grow and I was impressed when John chose Muskingum. I am sure he enjoyed the experience. Steve was always glad to help us out on insurance matters, and mixing in some beer with the advice led to long and interesting stories. We sincerely will miss him. He did a great job with you both. We have fond memories of all the good times.
Take care and bless you both.

Steve was one of those people who I can't remember meeting- I just always knew him. The only perch fishing I've ever done was on his boat. Whether he realized it or not I learned a lot from him. He's the reason I feel unprepared if I don't have a pen and paper in my pocket. He was the first person to explain investing to me. Senior Patrol Leader was a rough gig with him as Scoutmaster, but it became instantly clear that leadership is about responsibility and duty and not for privilege. When I got older I learned that chores could be made sociable and fun if you brought Bloody Marys to a pancake breakfast.
Small town parishes and civic organizations benefit from people like Steve. He will be missed.
