Susan M. Brouse, 43, residing in Milan, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at her home from a massive heart attack.
She was born Jan. 16, 1981, in Ashland, to Robert and Katherine (Stower) Brouse.
Susan graduated from Edison High School in 2000 and was a graduate of Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana with a degree in Elementary Education. Susan furthered her education at Bowling Green State University where she graduated with a degree in Speech and Hearing. She was employed as a speech therapist at North Point for years. Susan also worked with patients at Parkview nursing home and Milan nursing home. In her spare time, she enjoyed talking to and caring for the elderly patients. Susan loved her cat, Howie, who loved to sleep on her lap.
Susan is survived by her parents, Robert and Kathy Brouse of Milan; sister, Katy Brouse; nephew, William Casselberry; cousin, Jennifer (Martin) Sammons of Monroe, Michigan; special friends, Matt Howard and Meghan Meinert; and so many other dear friends, especially her former speech student, Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary and Howard Stower; and paternal grandparents, Thursa and Donald Brouse.
Susan treasured the children that she worked with in the present and past and had many special friends that she cherished. She will be missed dearly.
Private family services will take place at a later date.
Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, Sandusky, will be assisting with arrangements.
