Theresa Shoemaker, 90, of Bellevue, died Monday, April 17, 2023, at The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Bellevue, to Paul and Lucille (Moscorelli) DeLiberto. Theresa was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Church. She graduated from Bellevue High School and enjoyed her years of watching children in her home. In her free time, she loved reading, baking, knitting, crocheting, and embroidering.
She married Paul E. Shoemaker on April 27, 1957, and he preceded her in death Feb. 6, 2021.
Theresa is survived by her children, Jeffery (Karla) Shoemaker of Toledo, Jill (Mark) Buhrow of Maumee, and Joan (Dennis) Hosang of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren, Theresa Shoemaker, Dixie Shoemaker, Stephanie (Anthony) Vitro, Jessica (Tom) Ritter, Melissa (Jack) McEwan, Nicholas (Monika) Hosang, and Lauren Hosang; great-grandchildren, Tommy Vitro, Elania Vitro, Evelyn McEwan, Olivia McEwan, and Amelia Hosang; sister, Carma McGuire of Bellevue; brother, Russell (Rose) DeLiberto of Indiana; and sister-in-law, Nancy DeLiberto of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her sister, Ignatia (George) Trapp; brother, Carl DeLiberto; and brother-in-law, Robert McGuire.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Theresa's funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St, Bellevue. The Rev. Albert Beltz will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bellevue.
Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church or Stein Hospice.
