Therese Marie (Wechter) Barrett, 72, residing in Norwalk, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2022, at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Therese was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Sandusky, to the late Frank Edward and Mary Grace (Miller) Wechter.

Therese graduated from Huron High School in 1969. She was a quality control inspector at Freudenberg for six years and also provided home health care to many Milan residents through the years. Therese enjoyed crafts, working and gardening outside, home remodeling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Therese is survived by her husband, Edward J. Barrett, whom she married July 2, 1971; daughter, Amy (Brian) Dewald of Statesboro, Georgia; sons, Sean (Vanj) Barrett of Oregon, Ohio, and Stephen Barrett of Norwalk; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Sr. Angela Hibbard, IHM of Monroe, Michigan, Ruth Fichter of Brownstown Township, Michigan, and Fran (Grant) Leeper of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Therese was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Crump.

Friends may call 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, until the time of Therese's memorial service at 4 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan. Pastor Wally Gilbert will officiate. Private family burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
