Thomas Edward "Tom" Meisler, 86, of Castalia, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his daughter's home surrounded by family.
He was born May 23, 1936, in Sandusky, to Carl and Edna (Toft) Meisler.
Tom was a third-generation member of the current fifth-generation Toft Dairy family. As a child, Tom would ride alongside his brothers to help them run the daily milk routes. During his over 66 years of employment, Tom "Pappy" wore many hats of milkman, salesman, Vice President, and tour guide. He took pride with his family overseeing the expansion of the business, from a home delivery service to a modern retail facility it has become today. Tom was called the master ice cream maker. Working and fishing were two things Tom loved to do. He also loved to take care of his dog, Precious.
He is survived by his children, Dennis (Maureen) Meisler of Castalia and Brenda Meisler of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jeramie (Holly) Meisler, Jamie (Tia) Meisler, Joshua (Crystal) Meisler, Jody (Jay) Meisler-McKillips, Kayla (Myles) Stierhoff, Danielle Meisler, and Jenna Meisler; great-grandchildren, Hailee Meisler, Brennan Meisler, Aidan Meisler, Addisyn Meisler, Landon Meisler, Brantley Meisler, Blake Meisler, Jase McKillips, Jolie McKillips, Hudson Stierhoff, and Harper Steirhoff; numerous nieces and nephews; and special care giver, Debra Wikel.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Colleen Carol (Criswell) Meisler in 2016; parents; and brothers, Donald Meisler, Robert Meisler, Russell Meisler, and Eugene Meisler.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Tom's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or one's favorite charity.
