Thomas Roberts Obituary

Thomas "Tom" James Roberts

Jun 2, 1955 - Aug 28, 2022

Huron

Thomas "Tom" James Roberts, 67, residing in Huron, passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 28, 2022, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Tom was born June 2, 1955, in Sandusky, to James and Marlene (Bremer) Roberts.

Tom graduated from Sandusky High School in 1973. He was an area sales manager for General Electrical Appliance for 10 years, and the owner and operator of his audio business, Audio Force, where he was known as "Doc Audio." He was also involved with Ultimate Industries and had a patent on fake rocks. Tom had a very strong faith and was a member of The Chapel, where he was a part of the worship music team and in the men's Bible study group for many years. He enjoyed boating, his Harley-Davidson, his 1970, 1972, and 2019 Dodge Challengers, and he loved Christmas, especially Christmas lights. He even began a family tradition of awarding the house with the best light display each year with a custom made plaque and asking the recipients to pass along the award the following year to a deserving household.

Tom is survived by his wife, Connie S. (Shrake) Roberts, whom he married Feb. 8, 1997; daughter, Marcia (Tim) Hahn of Vienna, West Virginia; sons, Mark Roberts of Marietta, Georgia, Matthew Roberts of Bradenton, Florida, and Michael "Scott" (Lauren) Roberts of Brentwood, Tennessee; mother, Marlene; grandchildren, Jack, Nicholas, and Daniel; sisters, Tamara "Tami" Roberts of Chicago, Illinois, and Tonya (Keith) Warren and Tina (Jodi) Showalter, both of Sandusky; close friends and family, John (Pat) Bremer of Walbridge, Gary (Missy) Bremer of Walbridge, Beth (Dean) Wright of Sandusky, and Debbie Mischler of Vermilion; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his father, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy, in 2013.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Tom's funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd. Pastor Todd Nielsen and Pastor Darrell Gant will officiate. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery, Sandusky.

Those wishing to contribute to Tom's memory may do so to The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or by selecting a child from any local Angel Tree this holiday season as Tom loved to ensure each of the children's names were selected by personally shopping for any remaining names the few days leading up to Christmas.
