Thomas R. "Tom" White, 79, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Ohio Veterans Home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1943, in Port Clinton, to Milton T. White Jr. and Helen (Zeck) Cozzie.

Tom graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1961. He was a veteran of U.S. Army who proudly served his country from Oct. 2, 1961 to Sept. 23, 1964. He was a mechanic at his family-owned Front End Shop and also worked at Cedar Lanes and Sandusky Alignment. He was a member of AMVETS Post 17, VFW Post 2529, and Huron Eagles. In his spare time, he enjoyed The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, NASCAR, euchre, working outside, and spending time with friends and family.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Tami (Rick Sullivan) Fields of Sandusky; son, Tom A. White of Sandusky; grandchildren, Evan and Hanna, both of Sandusky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; companion of 32 years, Virginia "Peggy" Lucas; and brothers, Milton "Mick," Ted, Richard "Dick," Jerold "Jerry," James "Jim," John, and Stephen.

Visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Tom's services will be 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
