Timothy Miller Obituary

Reverend Timothy Curtis Miller was born May, 24, 1954, in Sandusky, the son of Curtis Donald and Dorothy Helen (Gysan) Miller. He graduated from Margaretta High School in Castalia in 1972. He also attended Waldorf Junior College and Capital University, and graduated from Trinity Seminary in Columbus in 1980. On June 19, 1976, Tim was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Wierson in Ames, Iowa.
Tim has served the Lord as Pastor in Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Iowa communities. Tim enjoyed gardening, spending time outside, getting to know everyone he had ever crossed paths with and spending time with his grandchildren. Tim has been an active member of Williamsburg Kiwanis, Lions Club, helped with Iowa County Food Bank, Essence of Life Hospice and First Lutheran Church Flame Fund. Tim died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 71.
He is survived by his children, Jason (Shonna) Miller of Anamosa, Iowa, Andrew (Sage) Miller of Altoona, Iowa, and Letha (fiancé Zack Polkinghorn) Miller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Dallas, Daniel (fiancé Rory Bickler), Daylor, Sydney, Jackson, Maxwell and Charlotte; three siblings, Brenda (Jack) Ried of Castalia, Stanley (Sheri) Miller of Sandusky, and Deb (Jay) Cordoba of Albany, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara, October 29, 2025.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at First Lutheran Church north of Conroy. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Iowa. Burial at Ames Municipal Cemetery will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Essence of Life Hospice or Flame Fund.

Grew up in school and in Church/Sunday school together. I always knew that you would have the call to become a Pastor. I ran into your mother and father while I was visiting Ohio . I asked how you all were and your father just brightened up with the biggest smile. He was very interested in my husband and I living in Israel at the time . Tim, one of the kindest boys to ride the bus with. So sorry for your loss Brenda , Stanley and Deb. You had a wonderful brother ,but you knew that already. Prayers for you all , he will be missed.
