Tony Rodisel
Jun 24, 1968 - Sep 28, 2024
Vermilion
Tony Rodisel, 56, of Vermilion, entered Heaven's gates Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 from complications of cardiomyopathy. He was on a cruise ship headed to Bermuda with his wife and several friends.
Anthony Quinn Rodisel was born June 24, 1968, in Sterling, Illinois, to Viki and Jeff Rodisel. He was raised in Sandusky, graduated from SHS in 1986, and had a very successful 34-year career at POLYNT Composites, Sandusky. Tony was an avid sports lover. He was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Growing up, Tony played baseball, softball, football and bowling.
Tony was an amazing and accomplished bowler. He held his all-time average of 232, bowled 42 perfect 300 games, 11-800 game series, and was a superstar on the team at The Ohio State Bowling Tournament in 2005. He and his stepdad, Don Heyman, and friends won the championship with a 3639 in actual and handicap. The record still holds today.
Tony had a love for classic cars and fast cars. He grew up at the Sandusky Speedway and was a part of the 4th Turn Crazies. He recently celebrated his birthday racing his favorite Corvette on the Las Vegas Speedway, reaching speeds of 150 MPH.
Tony never took life for granted. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, his wife, Trish. His favorite vacation was a two-week trip to Europe in 2023, visiting Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia. The trip's highlight was attending a family wedding on a cruise ship from Italy. In July 2024, Tony fulfilled a bucket list wish of cruising to Alaska.
Tony's biggest and proudest accomplishment is his beautiful daughter, McKenzie. He loved her with every breath he took. He was her biggest fan, always beaming with pride to talk about his baby girl to anyone who would listen. Tony and McKenzie just enjoyed a trip to Cedar Point, laughing and riding rides until they were too dizzy to walk.
Tony is survived by the love of his life, Trish, who was with him until his last breath on Earth. They were married July 15, 1993, and were head-over-heals in love. Tony is also survived by his daughter, McKenzie, and her husband, Kenny, who was like a son to Tony; father-in-law, Joe McGraw; father, Jeff Rodisel; sister, Bridget (Chris) Rubio; stepfather, Don Heyman; sister-in-law, Mona (Jim) Petro; brother-in-law, Steve (Lori) Hathaway; nephews, Jordyn, Jacob, Todd and Michael; nieces, Alicia and Tiffany; several great-nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and two special kiddos, Ellie S. and Ellie J. Tony is also survived by his work family, bowling family and thousands of others. A special mention to AJ and Deanne, Jay, Mike K., JP, Doug H., Jason M., Dave and Kelly, Mike and Tonya, Thom and Jenna, Brian S., Terry C., Jeff and Julie, Eric and Christine and Kat. He is also survived by his four-legged best friend, Tito.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viki Rodisel; grandmothers, Jean Klitz and Edna Rodisel; and mother-in-law, Linda "Sigi" McGraw.
Tony was unapologetically himself. To know him was to love him. He made everyone laugh hard and always had something to say, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Perhaps you were lucky enough to be serenaded at one of his spontaneous concerts or admiring his improv dance moves. Tony would tell each of you to live life to the fullest, travel, buy your dream car, and remember, "There's always room for a hot dog!"
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to GoFundMe to purchase AEDs to place in local sports facilities. This was one of Tony's wishes.
A gathering will take place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Heidi Strickler officiating.
