Vera Ann Zimmerman, 91, residing in Castalia, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, at Providence Care Center after a brief illness.

Vera was born February 8, 1934, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Anthony and Bernice (Dronsejko) Morris.

Vera graduated from Monroe High School and was a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she received a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She was employed as an elementary teacher at Berlin-Milan School District for many years. She enjoyed bingo, baking, shopping, eating out, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Vera is survived by her daughters, Lynn Didion of Bellevue and Jodi (Mark) Gilliam of Castalia; her sons, Rick (Heather Harris) Zimmerman of Huron and Kirk (Mary) Zimmerman of Sandusky; her three grandchildren, Chelsea, Joshua and Breanna; two great-grandchildren, Bo and Kali; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Vera is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Donald Zimmerman, in 1997; and son-in-law, Dennis L. Didion.

A private family Graveside Service will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting family with arrangements.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Providence Care Center and Stein Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and support provided to their beloved mother during her time of need.
