Verna Mae Fox, 97, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and formerly of the Vickery area, passed peacefully to her heavenly home with her nephew and niece by her side in Florida.

She was born June 8, 1927, in Toledo to Lee Roy and Blanche Fultz. She graduated from Bowling Green State University and taught first grade.

She married Donald Fox and traveled worldwide with the Air Force. After retirement they settled in Fort Walton Beach. She was a great collector of treasures from their travels, and her favorite holiday was Christmas and everyone marveled at her decorations. She enjoyed raising their poodles Louise, Timmy, and Teddie.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT Donald Fox; parents; sister, Frankie Lane,;brother, Lee Roy Fultz Jr.; and niece, Heather Lane.

Graveside services will at 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at Castalia Cemetery with Pastor Allen Holmes officiating. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Society of Erie Co., 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH 44870, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
