William D. Bell, 88, of Sandusky, passed away Friday afternoon, April 5, 2024, at The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron.
He was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Elco, Pennsylvania, to John and Grace Bell. William served in U.S. Army for two years of active duty and four years in the Army reserves. He was a member of American Legion. He was a car salesman at Foster Chevrolet, Sandusky, for over 25 years, and prior to that, he worked at Sears selling insurance. William was a member of Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, Sandusky, and Masonic Lodge for over 55 years. He enjoyed watching game shows on TV and loved selling cars.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Corinne (Thurston) Bell; daughter, Yevette; son, Bart Bell; five stepdaughters, Anna Lee Russell, Theresa (Alvin) McCoy, Francis Baldwin, Eleanor (Mark) Stultz, and Cynthia (Phil) Chorney; five stepsons, William (Kathy) Dyer, John (Pat) Dyer, Dan (Martha) Dyer, Timothy (Kerry) Dyer, and Scott (Tobias) Dyer; 35 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Bell; and several nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Bell; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. William's funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron. Pastor Keith Martinez will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, Sandusky, or The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron.
