Granville

William "Bill" Brunow, 96, of Granville and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023.

Bill was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Sandusky, to Carl and Susie Brunow. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1945. He served in U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Bill worked through snow and heat, running his business, Brunow's Marathon, for 45 years. He had a farm on Route 4. His passion was horses and could tell you many stories about his quarter horses.

Bill's survivors include his daughters, Sheila Roush (John), Betsy Brunow, Janice Tunnell (Steve), and Terry Nolan; son, Steve Brunow (Joyce); stepchildren, Gail Winter, Gerald Obermeyer, and Richard Obermeyer; sister, Rose Damonte; brother, Richard Brunow; loving grandson, Johnny Roush; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob and Carl; sister, Mary Ann Woberser; wife, Juanita; daughter, Linda Brown; and wife, Marian.

Bill's wishes were to donate his body to the anatomical donation program at Ohio State University, Columbus, for medical research.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, Ohio, 43055, www.Hospiceofcentralohio.org.

I miss his Smile and waiting for the school bus to go by, and then come back by, and then back to his room, we´d go!

I will never forget how "Happy," he was when I planned a "Surprise Birthday Red Lobster Dinner," for him, that my husband picked up and brought to Kendal! Bill was a very humble man and had a lot of personality and loved to laugh, plus watch the school buses go by, and come back by after they dropped the children off. He loved his "Farm," and it always came up during my shift with him! I know he loved his family and talked about them and the photos, on the Electronic Photo Frame! He will forever live in your "Hearts & Memories!"

I am so sorry Jan to hear about your dad. My dad was born in 1927 but passed in 2001. I wouldn't have noticed him from the picture, but I definitely remember his funny personality and his smile. Sending you hugs and prayers.

Bill, "The Marathon Gasman"! Remember him making deliveries to our house way back when. My sympathy and prayers to the family.

Love his picture and it was so him! Although, he only touched my life a short time, we made many “Great Memories!” The “Greatest,” being his “Surprise 96th Birthday Dinner From Red Lobster!” I was rushing around so much that day, while he was waiting for the School Buses, and I was setting the table for dinner and laundry, too! My “Partner in Crime,” my husband picked up the “Red Lobster Dinner,” and he pretended to blow out a candle, because no “Lite Candles,” at Middleton! Also, the “Air Guitar,” he played at the “Valentine’s Day,” when “Elvis Was In The House!” When I gave him the “Birthday Poem,” I wrote, he said, “That’s why you ask all those questions and write in the “H.I. Notebook!” Thank you Sheila & Betsy
for “Sharing Your Dad with Me!” He was “Real Gem with a Great Sense of Humor!”
