William Rolland "Willy" Miller

William Rolland "Willy" Miller, 80, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, with his family by his side. William was born April 26, 1942, in Delmar, Alabama, the son of the late William Riley Miller and Leester (Hill) Miller. To most of William's "northern" friends and family, he was Willy, while to his southern friends and family, he was Rolland.

Willy attended Lynn High School where he was named varsity football team captain his junior year, and co-captain his senior year. He was an all-conference tackle, all-state tackle, and won the outstanding lineman award. Later in life, Willy was voted into his high school's local sports Hall of Fame.

Willy moved north to Ohio in search of work where he met and married his wife, Joyce Marylin Berberick and settled in Clyde. Willy was the proud father of two daughters, Laura and Traci. Willy was a hard-working UAW welder who retired after over 40 years as a Millwright from Johnson/Armstrong Air, Bellevue.

Through his younger years, Willy enjoyed building dirt track racing cars. Willy kept his racing passion alive by introducing his daughters to the sport while doing odd welding jobs at the local racetrack on Saturdays. Willy was an avid NASCAR fan and could be found watching any race he could find on TV. Willy spent countless hours in his workshop rebuilding cars of all types. Willy was also a proud Alabama football fan, "Go 'Bama, Roll Tide." Most importantly, Willy was a family man who would give the shirt off his back to help a friend and family.

Surviving Willy is his daughter, Traci (Miller) Shook (fiancé Keith Owens); grandsons, Joshua Wyss (fiancé Brandon Bortel), Jonathan Tipton, Nick Tipton (wife, Kristy), and Katie Tipton; and great-grandchildren, William, Addison, and Oakley.

Willy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Charles; wife, Joyce (Berberick) Miller; daughter, Laura (Miller-Wyss) Tipton; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Shook.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, Ohio, 43410. Willy's funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
