Alfred P. Thomas Sr., 85, of Berlin Heights, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Montgomery, West Virginia, to Edmond and Anna (Smith) Thomas.
Alfred proudly served in U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. He was a member of The Masonic Temple of Norwalk in which he was very involved. He really enjoyed the camaraderie of the fraternal organization. In his spare time, Alfred relished in going out to eat, especially at Jordan's Country diner. He loved sun bathing on his porch and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Helen (Bobryk) Thomas; daughters, Kim, Toni, and Joni; son, Dane (Amy) Thomas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and dear friend, Dave Baeumler.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; children, Sally Franklin and Alfred "Phil" Thomas Jr.; and three siblings.
Visitation for friends will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, until the time of Masonic services and Alfred's funeral at 6 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South St., Berlin Heights, Ohio, 44814.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alfred's memory may be made to The Norwalk Masonic Lodge, 315 E. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.

To Helen - so sorry to learn of Phil passing. I´m sorry I could not attend his funeral. I do have many fond memories with you folks from the marina many years ago. Sending my love to you.
