Alice M. (Cook) Maiani, 93, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 21, 2024, surrounded by her family at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born April 22, 1931, in Lakeview, the daughter of Jonas Andrew and Emma Leota (Hundley) Cook. Alice was a proud graduate of Sandusky High School having received her degree at the age of 90 in 2021. She was a homemaker, but also worked for many years as a teacher's aide and librarian for Margaretta Schools. Alice will be remembered by her family for how she loved to cook, play cards, and how she always looked forward to spending time with her family, the grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She was a known home body and found great comfort in just staying at home and caring for the stray cats in the neighborhood that would come around.

Alice was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, John (Linda) Maiani of Perrysburg; two daughters, Rose (Keith) Ott of Sandusky and Linda (Mike) Keith of Bellevue; daughter-in-law, Anna Maiani of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Sheldon of Alger; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, John D. Maiani; son, David J. Maiani Sr.; and her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky. Private burial will take place at Kelleys Island Cemetery, Kelleys Island.
