Aline M. Barr, 94, died at Stein Hospice on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Mrs. Barr was born in Whites Landing, Ohio on September 11, 1928 to Mary Maudaline (Donaldson) and Alfred Meggitt.
Aline graduated from the former Townsend High School in 1946, She was a long-time member of Vickery Methodist Church.
While she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and her word search, her real joy was attending family activities. Those that included her grandchildren were her favorite.
She married Robert Nelson Barr on June 15, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2012.
Two daughters survive, Beverly Hughes of Fort Peer, South Dakota and Martha (James) Pitcher of Sandusky. Four grandchildren Shane Hughes, MacCartney Hughes; Jason (Dana) Pitcher and Megan Peugeot survive along with ten great grandchildren, James, Madelyn, Brayden, Evan Peugeot; Roben Barr Pitcher (fiancé' Marc Dieter), Elli Marie Pitcher Cole Hughes, Grace Hughes, Luke Hughes and Draiden Hughes. Her sister, Evelyn (Walter) Binger of Vickery survive as well.
Aline was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Arline Hirt, her twin sister; George Meggitt, John Meggitt and Don Meggitt.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. A private funeral will be held with burial in Castalia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Vickery Methodist Church, Stein Hospice, Red Cross.

What I remember first about Aline is her laugh. It was unique and genuine. I got to know Aline through her daughter, Marti. I was blessed to have been welcomed into their home and their lives. I admire farmers. They are hard-working and self-sufficient. Aline will live on through her children and grandchildren.
