Alison Kate (Hosfeld) Horazy, 81, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025, at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Alison was born September 15, 1943, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Alfred Henry Hosfeld Jr. and Ava Mae (Sands) Hosfeld Papp.
Alison graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961 and then graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1964. She worked and retired after 44 years as a registered nurse at hospitals in Toledo, Chicago, Illinois, and Sandusky. Alison was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Alison was not only a wonderful friend to many, but she was also kind and loyal and always there when you needed her. She was a devoted and proud grandmother. She cherished her family with all her heart. She found joy in every moment spent while traveling to be with her children and grandchildren. She most enjoyed dining out and trying new places and was an avid reader and a Cleveland Indians and Ohio State fan.
Alison is survived by her son, John Michael Horazy of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two daughters, Kate (Charles) Davis of Tampa, FL, and Jessica (Oren) Epstein of Calabasas, CA; her grandchildren, Ava and Benny Esptein, and Zoe Horazy; two sisters, Anne Lynn (Michael Frank) Hosfeld of Petaluma, CA, and Arlene (Pierre) Rouzier of Amherst, MA; brother, Anthony (Anne Marie) Hosfeld of Sandusky; niece, Amy Corso; nephews, Anthony (Elwira) Rouzier, Nicholas Rouzier and Andrew Hosfeld; and numerous other relatives.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, Ohio 44870, with Father Prashanth Kumar and Deacon Jeff Claar presiding.
