Alma Pearson "Fudge", affectionately known as Nana, 70, unexpectedly passed away Friday, April 10, 2026.

Alma was born July 21, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, to Earnest and Lura (Ruffin) Pearson. She spent many years working for Erie County Care, as well as at several other places throughout Erie County and Sandusky.

Alma was known for her laughter, warm spirit and love of life. She enjoyed watching movies, shooting pool, playing cards, bowling, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. Her "partner in crime," Nova Lynn, was always by her side for many of those joyful moments.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tara Pearson, Iniko (Mary) Pearson, and Keisha (Marcus) Matthews; grandchildren, Mechayla Matthews, Marcus Matthews, Myasia Matthews, Arieahna Pearson, and Nevaeh Pearson; great-grandson, Azarion Myles; as well as her siblings, Ruth Moore, Elizabeth Lee (Myra), all of Sandusky, Fannie Turner, Earnest Stean Pearson, Barbara Tyler, Martha Pearson, Mary (William) Jones, all of Flint, Michigan. Host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Janice Philon and Wayne Lemon.

Alma's kindness, laughter, and love for family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Lura Pearson; brothers, David Pearson and Amm Pearson; sisters, Annie Lura Pearson, Willie Mae Pearson, and Cora Lee Mayfield; great-grandson, Taven Matthews; longtime companion, Walter Poole; brothers-in-Law, Joe Mayfield Sr. and Archie Tyler; nephews, Johnny Ray Moore, Robert Moore, Joe Mayfield Jr, Tristan Pearson and Earnest Myers; great-nephews, Praskash Patel, Eric Tyler, and Dequavius Tyler; great-nieces, Charmeka Sherman and Tashara Toins; great -great-nephew; Jah'kari Deloach; and her pet, Nova Lynn.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mount Zion COGIC, 1814 2nd St., Sandusky, Ohio 44870, with Pastor Ricky Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
