Amy Suzanne (Shepherd) McClellan, 58, residing in Berlin Heights, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Amy was born July 21, 1966, in Sandusky to Kenneth and Christine (Green) Shepherd.

Amy graduated from Edison High School in 1984, followed by Lorain Community College in 1987. She continued her education throughout her life. She was employed as a surgical technician for 15 years at Providence Hospital in Sandusky before continuing her career at Mercy Health in Lorain, where she worked for 22 years. During her time at Mercy she specialized as part of the open-heart surgical team, a role she took great pride in and where her dedication was truly shown. Amy was a member of the Association of Surgical Technologists. Amy loved going to the beach, traveling, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Amy is survived by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Nathan McClellan. She is also survived by her grandmother, Peggy Davis; two daughters, Megan McClellan and Abbie (Sean) Rine; two grandchildren, Garrett and Aven; two brothers, Matthew Shepherd and John Shepherd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Amy is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Maye & Dale Shepherd; and maternal grandfather, Don Davis.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Woodyard presiding. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
