Sandusky

Ann Ernst, 58, residing in Sandusky, passed away from an unexpected brief illness Saturday, April 2, 2023.

She was born July 12, 1964, in Sandusky, to Diane Ernst (Sabiers) and the late Dr. Paul F. Ernst.

She was a graduate of Sandusky St. Mary High School, graduating in 1982. She was a LPN and received her Associate Degree from Sandusky School of Practical Nursing.

Her employment began with Dr. Paul Ernst, Drs. Conburn and Kelly, and she retired with North Coast Surgical Associates under Dr. Itzkowitz, Dr. Vargas, and Dr. Laffay.

She enjoyed being with her friends and Cameo Pizza. Ann was a pet lover, having rescued many cats and caring for them. Ann enjoyed her family and friends, most especially her time with her husband, Don.

Ann is survived by her husband, Donald C. Icsman, whom she married Dec. 7, 2007; mother, Diane Ernst of Sandusky; daughter, Nichole Ernst of Mt. Gilead; stepchildren, Kelly Icsman of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and Don W. Icsman of Boca Roton, Florida; grandchildren, Jaxen Smith, Grace King, and Jocilyn Icsman; and brothers, Drs. David (Christine Barry) Ernst and Steve (Aimee) Ernst.

Ann was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Paul Ernst, in 2014.

Private family services will be at a later date.

Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.

Those wishing to contribute to Annie's memory may do so to Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky.
