Anna Theresa Valko, 94, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born Nov. 1, 1929, in Seneca County, the daughter of Leo E. and Imelda M. (Widman) Fritz.
Anna was a 1948 graduate of Bellevue High School. She was a registered nurse, having graduated from the former St. John's Hospital in Cleveland in 1951. She worked many years for The Bellevue Hospital. She volunteered with Hospice of Memorial Hospital after retiring.
Anna was a devout member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, where she also participated in the Altar Rosary Society, church funeral choir, liturgy committee, and St. Christopher Study Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading, caring for her flowers, and being with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Susan (Greg) Englund of Bellevue, Cynthia (Howard) Coopersmith of Fort Collins, Colorado, Christine (Kevin Homerick) Ammanniti of Bellevue, and Theresa (Peter) Simons of Charlottesville, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret SanGregory of Bellevue and Magdelane (Ted) Snyder of Texas; and sister-in-law, Martha Fritz of Bellevue.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Valko, whom she married July 12, 1952, at St. Michael's Church; daughter, Christine Marie Valko; two sons, Gerard Valko and Edward Valko; great-grandchild, Brooks Dalton; three brothers, Martin, Francis, and Louis Fritz; sister, Mary Rohrbacher; and sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Fritz and Evelyn Fritz.
Visitation for friends will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue.
Memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or Immaculate Conception School.
