Anne Elizabeth (Strickfaden) Guendelsberger, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away of natural causes Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Providence Care Center.
Anne was born March 3, 1927, in Sandusky, to Sylvan and Helene (Hohler) Strickfaden.
Anne was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary High School and life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She received her R.N. degree from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in the spring of 1948. In October, she married Bill, the love of her life, and they shared over 71 years together.
Anne is survived by her children, Ruth, John (Nese), Joe (Cheryl), Jean (Dan) Horgea, Dave (Linda), Frank (Laurie), Carl (Wendy), Janet (Jim) Mazza, Marie (Dave) Savord, and Dan (Susanne); 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Kennedy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William "Bill" Guendelsberger in June, 2020; grandsons, Scott and Eren; sister, Agnes; and brothers, John, Charles, and Paul.
A special thanks to the staff of Providence Care Center and Stein Hospice for assisting the family with Anne's care giving.
Visitation for friends will be 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, until the time of Anne's Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.
