Bertha Mathilda (Trueman) Biechele, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025, with her family at her side at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born March 2, 1938, in Sandusky, the daughter of the late Charles Cowling and Flossie Cordella (Noftz) Trueman. Bertha graduated from Sandusky High School in 1956, where she was active in the A Cappella Choir. She met her future husband, David G. Biechele, in Sandusky, and they eventually eloped and married in Angola, Indiana, September 21, 1957.
Bertha was employed by J.C. Penney Co. for 25 years before retiring. She then worked as a realtor and office manager at Vacationland Realty, Inc., until she retired for the second time.
Bertha was a true matriarch of the family and a great steward of life. She will be remembered by her family for being an excellent dancer and for winning, over the years, Latin dance competitions at Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Cleveland. Also, when the kids were home, she loved camping with them in different campgrounds around the state. In years past, she also enjoyed attending the many National Realtor Conventions throughout the United States.
Betha is survived by her husband of 68 years, David G. Biechele; her four sons, Scott (Sherry), Thomas, Daniel (Lorraine), and Christopher (Deneen) Biechele; along with five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, David (Ann) Trueman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean Miller and Sue Werren; and three brothers, Raymond, Donald, and Frederick Trueman.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, and 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, November 15, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson Street,, Sandusky, with the. Rev. Ted C. Buehl officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
