Betty J. Moore

Sandusky

Betty J. Moore, 82, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Firelands Medical Center in Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Decatur, Mississippi, Betty made Sandusky her home in 1968. She was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Betty retired as the head cook at Erie County Senior Center, where she was known for her warm spirit and her gift for preparing meals that brought people together. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and planning gatherings that created lasting memories for everyone she loved.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Pamela (Jeff) Moore, Michelle Lynch, Henry Moore Jr., Veronica Moore, Cynthia Matthews, Janet Moore, and Brian Moore; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Billy Denham; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Moore Sr.; an infant son, Richard Moore; her parents, Tom and Caroline Denham; her siblings, Dorothy Oliver, Willie Denham, John Denham, Mary Stout, Bonnie Holiday, and Tom Denham Jr.; and a grandchild, Teangelo Woods.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Brown Robinson Funeral Home, 1814 Milan Road, Sandusky. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Cemetery in Huron.
