Brenda Jane (Angney) Popke, 66, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at home in Sanford, North Carolina, with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Lorain, to Allan and Betty (Hastings) Angney.
She had been a North Carolina resident for the past 26 years.
Brenda graduated from Vermilion High School in 1974. She married Charles "Chuck" G. Popke III on Nov. 16, 1974.
Brenda worked several years for The Hershey Company and took great pleasure in delivering chocolate. She enjoyed bowling, spending time with friends, and spoiling her dogs. She was a volunteer at Central Carolina Hospital's gift shop.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; three sons, Douglas A. (Sarah) Popke of Wilmington, North Carolina, Steven C. (Emily) Popke of Sandusky, and Jeffrey P. Popke of Sanford, North Carolina; stepdaughter, Sherry A. Popke of Sandusky; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex Angney and Glenn Angney.
A private family service will be at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford, North Carolina. Online condolences may be shared at www.bridgescameronfuneralhome.com. A memorial service to celebrate Brenda's life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Brenda's name to The American Breast Cancer Foundation at www.abcf.org.
