Carol A. (Sprankle) Lescher, 87, of Amherst, Ohio, passed peacefully from this life to the next on Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, at The 1907 At Central School assisted living facility. She was born on April 24, 1938, in Sandusky, Ohio, graduating from Huron High School in 1956.

Carol married Raymond L. "Red" Lescher on April 15, 1961. The two spent 64 years together. She had worked at Citizens Bank Company in Sandusky, Western & Southern Life Insurance Company in Norwalk, the Norwalk Area Federal Credit Union, and retired from Society National Bank, (now Key Bank) in Norwalk in 1993.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she volunteered in the parish offices for many years. She also held the office of the Treasurer, for the Firelands Art League, and volunteered and was a member of St. Joseph in Amherst.

Carol loved painting, sewing and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara "Sally" (Scott) Wagner; daughter in-law, Donna Lescher; grandchildren, Wes (Brittany), Lauren (Patrick) Travis, Lindsay (Joshua), Casey, Colleen (George), and Alex; 11 great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Sprankle in 1974; mother, Angela (Mackert) Sprankle in 2015; husband, Raymond "Red" Lescher, in 2015; and sons, David, in 1995, and Anthony "Tony", in 1971.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio 44857, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Milan, Ohio.
