Carol Jeanne Riffle (née Christian) passed away peacefully at home in Tomball, Texas, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born May 11, 1945, in Kankakee, Illinois, Carol grew up in Herscher, Illinois. She was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love for her family. Carol retired as a letter carrier in Sandusky, Ohio, where she served her community with dedication and warmth.
She was a passionate fan of Ohio State football and Real Madrid soccer, and she never missed a game. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for every pet she had-and every stray she met.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Riffle; and her parents, Joe Pavig and C. Isel Pavig (née West).
She is survived by her loving sister, Judy Buck of Bradley, Illinois; her children, Sandy Overmyer (Todd), Jeff Riffle (Pam), and Cheryl Sefraoui (Rostom); her cherished grandchildren, Ty Overmyer (Lori), Tori Overmyer, Ashley Riffle, Allison Riffle, Jacob Sefraoui, Jenna Sefraoui, and Ryan "Tater" Sefraoui; and her great-granddaughter, Blakely Overmyer. Carol also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought her great joy.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Perkins Cemetery in Sandusky.
We will have a get-together at Chet & Matt's in Sandusky after the graveside services.
Carol's love, humor, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
