Charlene D. Karabatsos, 77, formerly of Barberton, died Friday, December 26, 2025, at The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born September 3, 1948, in Barberton, and was a 1966 graduate of Barberton High School. She was a 35-year employee of Babcock and Wilcox.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Mollie (Brandon) Biehl of Castalia; her son, Nick (Kristen) Karabatsos of Naperville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Cole Biehl, Alayna Biehl, Kaden Kraemer, and Hudson Karabatsos; and several special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha Robinson; and brother, Don Smith.
At Charlene's request, there will be no service. Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at The Willows for their loving care during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to her son, Nick's, not-for-profit organization, Forest Feeding Families, which helps families facing food insecurity. Mollie and Nick - I cried reading this news. Your mom was always the sweetest person in any room for all the years we were growing up in Barberton. She was at every event of yours through school and always your #1 fan.
We had your phone line pretty locked down in our middle school years and even in her exasperation, she was still so kind!
I´m a huge fan of the Karabatsos family and she´s a big reason why. I hope your best memories of her are close as you work through this very tough time.

Charlene was a colleague, friend and we went to school together. I have many fond memories of her especially our trip to Toronto . We lost touch a few years ago but I´ll always remember her and the fun we had when she was in Barberton. Rest in Peace Charlene - you deserve it.
