Norman Roeder Obituary

Norman C. Roeder Sr.

Sep 26, 1936 - Feb 12, 2026

Norwalk

Norman C. Roeder Sr., 89, of Norwalk and formerly of Monroeville, passed away Thursday evening, February 12, 2026, at Providence Care Center in Sandusky after a long, wonderful life.

He was born September 26, 1936, in Norwalk, and was a 1954 graduate of Monroeville High School, where he played basketball. Norman was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1957-1959, stationed in Colorado, California, and Hawaii. He was employed as a meatcutter at various meatpacking companies prior to his retirement.

All his life, Norm's No. 1 priority was his wife, Pat, and their six children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Norm was an unassuming, thoughtful man, a positive role model, and in his quiet ways, he had great influence upon the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition, Norm enjoyed the outdoors, especially the Colorado mountains. Over the years, he and his wife, whom he called Patsy, made several trips to see as many corners of Colorado as feasible. He greatly enjoyed nature – feeding the birds, vegetable gardening, and especially trees. He was in his element when planting and nurturing his trees. He also loved working in the yard, playing cards, watching sports, meeting his classmates for coffee, and spending time with his beloved family. Norm was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and knew that all were safe and sound. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Brown) Pisarsky Roeder; six children, Lynn (Bryan Deschamps) Roeder Child of Findlay, Nancy (Ken) Brown and Susie (Ken) Didion Wilhelm, both of Monroeville, Debi (Steve) Teague of Bucyrus, Norm (Lynne) Roeder Jr., of Delaware, Ohio, and Diane (Scott) Stiert of Milan; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Bob) Brown of Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hilda (Siesel) Roeder; and two sons-in-law, James W. Child and Dennis J. Didion.

A private family celebration of life will take place and burial with his parents in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.

Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Reserve Care (Stein Hospice), 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.

Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, has been entrusted with arrangements.
