Charles Thornton Strack, 77, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022. He was born July 4, 1945, the son of Thornton and Alice (Wobser) Strack. He was married to Peggy Strack for 32 years. Chuck served in U.S. Army for six years, achieving the rank of E4, then began work for United Parcel Service (UPS) for 20 years. Chuck then changed his career path and began work for Stylecrest and finished his career working for D&S Automotive. Chuck attended Mt. Grove Church, where he enjoyed joking with Preacher Black about the Buckeyes. Chuck had an undeniable love of cars, especially Corvettes, and he enjoyed spending time in Amish country and with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Chuck is survived by his brother, David Strack and wife, Brenda, of Castalia; sons, Matthew Gottron and wife, Sara, of Port Clinton, David Young and wife, Angie, of Lenoir, North Carolina, and Kenny Young of Lenoir, North Carolina; daughter, Jennifer Schroeder and husband, John, of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Katie Gang and husband, Jay, Allison Schroeder, Jacob Gottron, Natalie Gottron, Emma Gottron, Lynx Cannon, Lexus Westfall and husband, Skyler, Makenzie Macchia and husband, Brett, and Leiton Young; and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Kara Westfall.

Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, with Chuck's services immediately following at Evans Funeral Service, 1070 Taylorsville Road SE, Lenoir, North Carolina, 28645. Memorial contributions in Chuck's honor may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
