Clarence Edward Mullins Sr., 85, of Fostoria, crossed into eternal glory at 10:15 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at his daughter's home.
He was born December 14, 1939, in Seco, Kentucky, to Ambrose and Edna (Craft) Mullins. Clarence married M. Marie (Wilcox) on Sept. 12, 1959, and she preceded him in death June 21, 2000.
He is survived by his son, the Rev. Clarence "Ed" (Tina) Mullins Jr. of Bellevue; daughters, Liz (David) Darnell of Fostoria and Melissa Mullins of Bloomville; grandchildren, Ashley Mullins of Bellevue, Nathan (Lauren) Mullins of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Joshua (Jennifer) Morgret of Kansas, Ohio, the Rev. Justin (Allison) Feight of Jamestown, North Dakota, Jasmyn Mullins of Tiffin, Manny Mullins of Bloomville, and bonus granddaughter, Lindsay Robinson of Tiffin; great-grandchildren, Norah and Isaac Mullins of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Blaine (Jayden) Myers of Chicago, Illinois, Levi (RaeAnna) Myers of Tiffin, Jaden Myers of Findlay, Jackson Morgret of Kansas, and Abigail and Benjamin Feight of Jamestown, North Dakota, and one great-grandchild due in July; great-great-granddaughter, Adelina Myers of Tiffin; sisters-in-law, Mildred Mullins of Nebraska, Betty Baker of Fremont and Kay Mullins of Carey; best friend of 65 years, Earlie Spradlin; and many nieces and nephews.
Clarence was also preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Teresa Marshall on December 11, 2013, and Mary Feight on September 16, 2020; brothers, Ray Mullins, Robert Mullins, Henry Mullins, and Charles Mullins; sisters, Illeen Sturgill, Mary Quillen, and an infant sister at birth; and great-granddaughter, Rebekah Feight.
He was ordained as a deacon in 1972 and ordained as a minister in 1981. Clarence preached the gospel for 43 years. He was Pastor at Tiffin Freewill Baptist Church, Carey Freewill Baptist Church, and an independent Freewill Baptist Church in Bradner.
Clarence founded Fostoria Freewill Baptist Church in 1992 and pastored there until 2000. Even after he no longer pastored, he served as an evangelist, preaching at several other churches and filling in for pastors over the last 24 years.
Previously, he worked at Hayes Albion in Tiffin. Clarence also worked as a mechanic at Sears and Walmart in Tiffin.
He played the guitar. Clarence traveled with the Gloryland Quartet in the 1970s. He started his family singing in 1975. They sang southern gospel and was known as the Heavenly Doves and later changed their name to The Living Miracles. Clarence was the bass singer for The Living Miracles.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, and 10 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, until the time of Clarence's funeral at 11 a.m., all at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin. His son, the Rev. Clarence "Ed" Mullins Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Jesus On Wheels, where he was a spiritual advisor to his son and family's food pantry, or Bridge Hospice.
