Corrine (Brewer) Opper, 85, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Macon, Georgia. Corrine was a bus driver for 12 years for Monroeville Public Schools and for Christie Lane School for 18 years. She was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church, where she was active in many church groups. She also served as President of United Methodist Women Group. Corrine was also a member of Norwalk Eagles, Red Hat Society, and volunteered at Fisher Titus Hospital, donating a lot of her time driving for Norwalk Memorial Home and The Carriage House. Her hobbies included bowling in two leagues, Singer and Thursday AM. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, spending time with family, and watching her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids playing sports.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Gates of Norwalk; three sons, Gary (Jill) Opper and Glen (Tam) Opper, both of Monroeville, and Gregg Opper of Texas; nine grandchildren, Chris (Leslie) Opper, Heather (Dusty) Pifer, Eric (Stacy) Opper, Sandi (Clint) Poths, Darrell (Lauren) Opper, Shelbe Opper, Hannah (Mike) McNulty, Max Gates, and Carson Gates; 11 great-grandchildren, Amelia, Grant, Emily, Abbi, Kaci, Alexus, Kanyon, Riley, Landyn, Kainen, and Oliver; sister, Betty (Gene) Cusano of Sandusky; two brothers, Wesley (Helena) Brewer of Florida and Edward (Anita) Brewer of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Opper in Nov., 2018; parents, Ulin and Emma (Greathouse) Brewer; great-granddaughter, Star Lynn; daughter-in-law, Janice Opper; and five siblings, Emma Ruth Lawton, Josie Bryan, Lillie Kurtz, Mary Ann Sibert, and Larry Brewer.

Visitation for friends will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Corrine's funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, 44857. Pastor Ed Kovacik will officiate. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norwalk First United Methodist Church or Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
