Dan Neese Obituary

Dan Neese

Nov 28, 1947 - Jul 15, 2022

Plano, Texas

Dan was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Sandusky, to Carl "Tex" and M. June Neese.

He was a first-team all-Ohio football player and later played for Otterbein College in Westerville, where he majored in Education. He was a manager of wholesale distribution for 50 years.

On July 27, 1975, he married a single mom, Linda, with three sons, John, Matthew, and Mark. They would have been married 47 years this month.

Dan came to the end of his earthly life Friday, July 15, 2022, at Medical City Hospital in Plano, Texas. He and Linda lived at Atria Canyon Creek in Plano for the last three years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; stepsons, John, Matthew, and Mark and wife, Sherry, Bakewell; sister, Deborah Voltz, of Sandusky; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

One of his greatest desires was to leave wherever he was better than he found it. In this, he was greatly successful.

I remember meeting Dan and Linda when they first moved to Atria. I was the receptionist there. They were an amazing couple, I enjoyed having conversations with Dan about his daily life and my changing life. I remember how excited both him and Linda were when i got married, and then when I was pregnant with my first baby. His kind words and smile were a blessing and even on the more difficult days he always made sure to leave things on a good note. The memories and advice they both give are special and dear in my heart. Dan will be sorely missed...

It was a privilege working for Dan while he served on the school board for Dowagiac Schools. He was a kind man with such a friendly personality. My prayers and condolences go out to the family.
