Prayers to all family and friends. My family got to know Mr Poggiali throughout his many rolls at SHS. Mr Pogggiali was my (c/o 1991) History/Econ teacher. He was my daughter's (c/o 2010) Principal. By the time my son (c/o 2020) got to know him, he was Chief of Staff and Transformation Officer.
Mr Poggiali did a great job in each roll he served.
RIP Dan

To Jen and the family my heart is heavy, your father was a great man, Principal Poggiali was so amazing. Do you know how cool it was for my friend's dad to be the principal! I remember one time i left my purse on the lunch table and went to talk to my friends, went thru the lunch line and realized I forgot my purse on the table. It was gone when I got back to the table, Mr. Poggiali bought my pizza that day, oh and they found my purse behind the bleachers. lol. I thought that was so cool because he actually cared, even though I could have a school lunch, but they got pizza delivered to us every Friday! He touched many kids to make them want to come to school. Adams school was cool because of this great man, my condolences to his beautiful family.

I had Mr. Poggaili for History in his first/second year teaching at SHS. He was one of my favorite teachers - warm, positive, and good for a laugh. I have good memories, even as coming up on 50 years. Elder Mr. Poggaili was my Ontario School Principal. Condolences to the family. Blue Streak community lost a good man.

Mr P was the best!! He was the type of person we all achieve to be. My SHS days were the best thanks to him leading our school and bring back lots of traditions to the school. There was never a day that when I got to school that he didn't say I am so glad to see your Smiling face today Nicole. He always believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. Even after High school days were over if he seen my mom anywhere he would always ask about me. How in the world he remembered me after all this time with the thousands of kids that came through that school just shows how much his students meant to him and that he truly never forgot about us. He was defiantly once in a lifetime type of Man and he will be truly be missed. I send all my love and prayers to his family.

To the entire Poggiali Family, I´d like to offer my most sincere condolences. Mr. Poggiali was one of my favorite teachers during my years at Sandusky High. Dan the Man, as we affectionately called him. Mr. P was our Senior class advisor, as I was class VP and he assisted us in all activities pertaining to our senior year.

Not only was he a great educator and advisor, he was also just cool! The last 5 minutes of class after he finished his lesson plan, he was say; "you guys can chill". I remember I would make him laugh so loud when he was doing his study hall duties that it would disrupt the entire study hall. He was the BEST!

Mr Poggiali, you will be missed and know you have touched many lives in a positive manner. May God bless your family with strength and peace as they morn your passing.

Dan and I began our teaching careers the same year at SHS. We quickly became friends and remained friends long after I left education. I was proud to see my friend become such a leader in the Sandusky School District and community. We lost an outstanding Blue Streak but his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched. My condolences to Liz and the family. RIP my old buddy.

My Deepest Sympathy to Liz, Jenn and Lucas,
Dan's loss will be deeply grieved as he has touched and impacted so many individuals through out his career. Dan shared with me that when he was attending Sandusky High School he was asked what career he planned. His answer was that he "wanted to become the principal of Sandusky High School, and be the 'Rock' for students and staff". Congratulations Dan, you became the greatest administrator that I have ever known. Few achieve their dreams as you have. His job and his family meant the world to him.

My condolences to the entire extended Poggiali family on the passing of Dan. He was my father's colleague in the SHS social studies department. He was my government teacher and homeroom teacher. He took me as the SHS representative to a World Affairs Institute conference in Cincinnati my senior year-not because of my academic "brilliance". I was not. I think he thought we would have fun maybe because we liked to laugh! Farwell Mr. Poggiali!

I remember being in 7th grade having him for Ohio history and Mrs. Poggiali for English when she was pregnant with Lucas. He was my favorite teacher and taught me to speak up if I had a different take, explain it my way. But then I think he regretted that because I never shut up! However he was truly a great man, you all have my deepest condolences

Mr. Poggiali was my high school Government teacher my senior year (1982). I remember as I was coming up in high school that "I hope I get Mr. P for my Gov't teacher"...and I did. Not my favorite subject or topic by any means but I remember he made it interesting and I looked forward to the class. His smile, his laugh, obviously a top notch educator and asset to the Sandusky City School system, Sandusky itself--then and now. Thank you, Mr. Poggiali. Rest in Heaven.
