Daniel Lee Obituary

Daniel David Lee

Jan 13, 1958 - Dec 21, 2022

Huron

Daniel David Lee II passed away peacefully on the evening of the Winter Solstice, Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, with his children by his side after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer.

Danny was born among other loved ones Jan. 13, 1958.

Danny was the youngest of three children and graduated from Huron High School in 1976. He attended Baldwin Wallace College and joined the family business to manage the Ramada Inn, Best Western Hotel, and Perkins Family Restaurant, where he worked closely with his parents, siblings, devoted friends, and children. He later was employed by Terminal Ready-Mix/Huron Cement where he shared many special memories with his eldest son, Ethan.

Danny was a loving, joyful father, beloved son, cherished brother, and loyal friend. His children loved to tease him about his quirky, but endearing, sense of humor.

Danny had a passion for all of his children's athletics, especially the 2020 Huron High School girls volleyball state champions (although his passion for the Tigers sometimes got the better of him while cheering from the stands). Danny demonstrated a deep faith, fierce loyalty, and admirable devotion to his five children, Jennifer Lee Wobser, Lauren Elizabeth Lee, Ethan Daniel Lee, Sophie Lane Lee, and Samuel Paul Lee.

In the Old Testament, Daniel stood strong and trusted God when he was thrown into a den of hungry lions. Danny's children and grandchildren have learned to live better and more purposefully because of their father's courage, faith, resilience, grit, strength, and character.

Danny will be forever missed by his mother, children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel D Lee Senior; and mother of three of his children, Poppy Lee.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Lee; sisters, Karin Lee Weltin and Sharon Lee (Dr. Charles) Wilson; daughter, Jennifer Lee (Eric) Wobser; second daughter, Lauren Lee; son, Ethan Lee; daughter, Sophie Lee; son, Samuel Lee; grandchildren Perry and Hayes Wobser; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, where visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2022. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Huron United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Danny Lee Memorial Fund at PNC Bank in Sandusky, which will establish a fund for his youngest three children.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to all of those who accompanied Danny on this journey with offers of prayers, meals, support, cards, and friendship. The Lee Family was especially comforted by Southern Care Hospice who helped show Danny's children how to fully care for him in the comfort of his home during his final weeks as well as the doctors and nurses affiliated with Sandusky's Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center.
